Community Health Center
What is the Shawnee County Health Agency - Community Health Center?
The Shawnee County Health Agency - Community Health Center (SCHA-CHC) is a federally funded community health center, providing non-emergency medical services for people of all ages. SCHA - CHC is not a free clinic. If a patient does not have insurance coverage, appropriate income documentation is required. Patients are expected to assist staff with third party insurance coverage information.

Patients will not be denied services based on ability to pay as long as they have appropriate income documentation and eligibility determined.

Following are some of SCHA - CHC's highlights:
  • Has been providing primary care services in Shawnee County since 1993.
  • Is designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Because of this designation, SCHA - CHC receives a federal grant to help us provide quality care at affordable prices. We are one of only fourteen FQHC's in Kansas.
  • Assists patients in applying for prescription medication through the various pharmaceutical companies.
  • Refers patients to specialist, for lab, x-rays, and other services SCHA - CHC does not provide in house.
