What is Teen Group?
Teen Group meets every Monday at noon at the Shawnee County Health Agency Van Sickle – Thorn Building, located at 2115 SW 10th St. Teens from ages 14½ through 19 (as well as their partners, friends and/or parents) may attend. No appointment is necessary, services are offered on a walk-in basis. Teen group meets with a Health Education Specialist to discuss these issues:
- Birth control methods
- STD information
- Pap smears
- Male and female anatomy
- Pelvic exams
- Breast exams
Female Providers perform female exams which generally include: a breast exam, STD testing, pap smear and a pelvic exam. Birth control methods will be discussed and may be available on site. Please bring:
- Insurance card
- Medical card
- Proof of income
- Photo ID
If you need a note for school, you may obtain one at your visit.
If 17 or under, must have signed consent by parent or legal guardian for physical exams. You may still attend the class for educational materials.
