Marian Clinic offers health care, hope and healing for those who cannot afford medical and dental care on their own.

For medical care, Marian Clinic welcomes residents of Shawnee County who are living at or below 175% of federal poverty guidelines and have no insurance or other means to obtain care. We ask that individuals fill out application forms and provide proof that they meet financial guidelines and residency requirements. (New patients need to enroll before appointments can be made. There are financial guidelines and proof of income will be required. Pay stub, W-2 form or letter from employer are examples of proof.)

At the Garfield location in central Topeka, Marian Clinic delivers general medical care on-site with referrals as needed for specialists' consultations and treatment, health education, medications, and medical supplies and equipment as available.

A women’s health program provides health screenings and physical, educational and supportive services for the unique needs of women. Contraceptives and obstetrical services are not available. The Clinic offers natural family planning to help women achieve or avoid pregnancy.

Vision

Promote • Protect • Provide • Prevent

Shawnee County Health Agency is dedicated to promoting and protecting health in the community by providing prevention, education, and health care services.

Public health efforts began in Topeka in 1866 with the appointment of the city’s first Public Health Officer. By contrast, the police department was not established until 1869 and the fire department until 1870 demonstrating the early and strong emphasis this community has always placed on public health. It is a fundamental service whose purpose is to protect and promote the health of all citizens. The client of the Health Agency is the entire community.
